Innovation in Phosphorus Recycling with DreiSATS
DreiSATS Phosphorus Recovery Project – innovative project
Carbotechnik is a proud project partner of the forward-looking DreiSATS project. The Federal Association of the German Waste Management, Water, and Raw Materials Industries (BDE) recently presented the project as part of its “Green Innovations in the Circular Economy” initiative. The focus is on an innovative approach to regional phosphorus recycling in the Central German border triangle (Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia, and Saxony).
Technology Demonstration for the Circular Economy
The project impressively demonstrates how modern process engineering can contribute to a more sustainable economy. At its core is the combination of three key technologies:
- Dust combustion as the thermal basis
- Acid leaching and granulation for further processing
- Integrated heavy metal separation for the highest purity standards
Industrial-scale tests and state-of-the-art plant technology
Comprehensive industrial-scale combustion trials are being conducted at the pulverized fuel combustion plant provided by Carbotechnik. The goal of these tests is to conduct a detailed investigation of heavy metal reduction and the resulting ash quality.
To maximize the results, the system is supplemented by the following components:
- Hot-gas filtration for efficient gas cleaning
- Additive dosing for optimal heavy metal removal and improved ash quality
