Lignite dust burner systems for district heating in Turek, Poland

The Polish town of Turek is supplied with district heating by GETEC heat & power GmbH. To support reliable and efficient heat generation, two lignite dust-fired units equipped with the proven Carbotechnik burner system were installed.

The systems use lignite dust as fuel and provide a reliable solution for district heating applications. A Carbotechnik fuel dosing system supplies the burners with a conveying capacity of 2,400 kg/h per dosing unit. The precise and continuous fuel supply ensures stable burner operation and reliable heat generation.

Carbotechnik burner and fuel dosing technology

Carbotechnik supplied the complete burner and fuel handling technology for the two lignite dust units. The scope included muffle burners, combustion and blast air systems, fuel dosing and conveying equipment, as well as the associated electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.

The two BKS dosing systems use DN1500 dosing machines with top-mounted filters. Together with the conveying systems, they provide a continuous and controlled supply of lignite dust to the burners.

Engineering and control systems

In addition to the mechanical equipment, Carbotechnik was responsible for the overall engineering of the boilers, economizers, burners, and fuel supply systems. The company also developed the control and automation concept for the complete installation.

The muffle burners include the required combustion air and blast air supply, including fans, as well as instrumentation and control valves. The integrated control technology coordinates fuel dosing, air supply, and combustion to support reliable and efficient operation.
