Flametube boiler with hot water system in Turek by Carbotechnik

GETEC heat & power GmbH supplies the Polish city of Turek with environmentally friendly and reliable district heating. As a major part of this municipal infrastructure project, the engineering team installed two modern flame tube boiler systems (BKS) in December 2017. Specifically, Carbotechnik equipped these powerful thermal units with its proven industrial burner system and a highly precise, automated fuel supply network.

High-Performance Dosing for the Flame Tube Boiler

To begin with, a high-precision Carbotechnik dosing machine forms the absolute heart of the mechanical setup. Consequently, this advanced system delivers a constant feed rate of 2,400 kg/h per individual heating unit. Indeed, the facility utilizes fine-grained lignite dust as its primary fuel source to achieve maximum thermal output. Furthermore, the engineering team specifically designed the entire system configuration to meet the strict requirements of a safe, continuous, and highly efficient urban heat supply.

As a result of this sophisticated design, the modern flame tube boiler network eliminates temperature drops and stabilizes the city’s district energy grid. Specifically, the integrated multi-fuel feeding components distribute the pulverized lignite with absolute pinpoint accuracy. Therefore, the municipal facility reduces overall fuel consumption while maintaining compliance with demanding European emission standards.

Comprehensive Scope of Services and Technical Data

In addition to delivering the core combustion units, Carbotechnik provided a full-service engineering package for this international project. Specifically, the extensive scope of supply included:

  • Complete technical engineering for the boilers, economizers, burners, and fuel supply.

  • Two Carbotechnik muffle burners with a complete air supply, measurement, and control technology.

  • Two large DN1500 metering machines with top-mounted filters for dust-free fuel metering.

  • Complete EMSR technology (electrical, measurement, control, and regulation technology).

Regarding the performance, each flame tube boiler provides a massive capacity of 13.7 MW of combustion heat. Furthermore, the plant operates reliably at 6 bar (g) with a targeted temperature of 160 °C.

Ultimately, this modern technical layout secures a highly automated, stable, and resource-efficient heat supply for the residents of Turek. In conclusion, this successful project demonstrates how Carbotechnik’s customized boiler solutions optimize regional district heating infrastructure.
