Process Energy Conference 2025 at Carbotechnik
On July 3 and 4, 2025, Carbotechnik welcomed numerous guests from Germany and abroad to its process energy conference at the company’s site in Geretsried-Gelting. Under the motto “Generating Process Energy – The Challenge of Tomorrow,” industry colleagues, partners and experts from engineering and technology came together. Over two intensive days, the participants discussed current developments, challenges and opportunities in industrial energy supply.
Expert presentations on the future of process energy
The conference program attracted strong interest. Renowned speakers presented current topics related to industrial energy supply and provided practical insights into new technologies.
The presentations covered a wide range of subjects. These included advanced refractory solutions, innovative grinding systems for biomass and new approaches to the energy transition. As a result, the presentations created a broad discussion about the future of process energy.
Carbotechnik also presented its own approaches and current projects. The discussion focused on how companies can continue to supply their industrial processes with reliable, efficient and future-oriented energy.
International exchange on industrial energy supply
International exchange was an important part of the process energy conference. Guests and speakers from Germany, the Netherlands and other European countries contributed different experiences and perspectives.
This created a broad view of the current challenges facing the process energy sector. At the same time, the discussions showed that many companies face similar challenges. These include reliable energy supply, greater energy efficiency and the development of future-ready technologies.
The personal discussions complemented the expert presentations perfectly. Participants could share practical experience, discuss specific questions and explore new approaches together.
Industry diversity creates new perspectives
The wide range of participating industries was another highlight of the event. Representatives from the lime, cement and gypsum industries met experts from district heating operators, fuel suppliers and plant engineering companies.
Each industry has its own requirements for industrial energy supply. Therefore, this combination created particularly valuable discussions. In addition, the exchange helped participants establish new contacts and identify potential opportunities for future cooperation.
Technology in practice at Carbotechnik
Another highlight was the “Walk & Talk” through the Carbotechnik production facility. During the tour, participants could experience modern technologies and production processes directly on site.
The tour also included a presentation of the “PLUS concept” from Refratechnik. This practical insight complemented the expert presentations and provided an opportunity for direct technical discussions.
Afterwards, participants continued their conversations over a joint dinner in a relaxed atmosphere. Personal exchange, networking and sharing practical experience remained at the center of the evening.
Continuing the exchange on the Isar river
On Friday, the group continued the discussions during a traditional raft trip on the Isar River. Excellent weather and a relaxed atmosphere created ideal conditions for further conversations and networking.
Participants used the opportunity to discuss the impressions from the previous day and exchange views on current developments in process energy. For Carbotechnik, the raft trip was therefore more than a social event. It symbolized the goal of the conference: moving forward together and developing new ideas.
Conclusion: shaping the future of process energy together
The process energy conference clearly demonstrated the importance of professional and personal exchange within our industry. Expert presentations, practical examples and direct discussions provided new perspectives on the future of industrial energy supply.
We would like to thank all participants for joining us, for their strong interest and for the open and constructive discussions. The international response and positive feedback encourage us to continue this exchange and build on the connections made during the event.
We are already looking forward to meeting everyone again at the next Carbotechnik conference.
