Innovative sewage sludge recycling: case studies and technical articles
Phosphorus recovery from sewage sludge – featured in WASSER & ABWASSER TECHNIK & Umwelt Magazine
Phosphorus recovery from sewage sludge featured in leading trade journals
Phosphorus recovery from sewage sludge is becoming increasingly important for wastewater treatment plant operators. New regulatory requirements call for sustainable solutions, while the disposal and recycling of sewage sludge are becoming increasingly difficult. At the same time, agricultural use and other material recovery options, such as land reclamation, are now only available to a limited extent.
To address these challenges, Carbotechnik developed an innovative concept for sustainable sewage sludge recovery and efficient phosphorus recycling. The process combines the recovery of phosphorus—a valuable raw material—with the economical utilization of sewage sludge. As a result, the concept supports both a resource-conserving circular economy and compliance with future legal requirements.
Experts in the field have shown great interest in this approach. That is why two renowned trade journals have published articles about our process. Both the March 2019 issue of *gwf Wasser + Abwasser* and the March issue of *Umwelt Magazin* present our concept in detail and explain the benefits for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants.
If you would like to learn more about our solution for phosphorus recovery from sewage sludge, we recommend reading both of these technical articles. They provide a comprehensive overview of our process and its contribution to sustainable and future-proof sewage sludge management.
