Carbotechnik at the DWA Sewage Sludge Conference 2019
From May 21 to 23, 2019, Würzburg hosted the DWA Sewage Sludge Conference. Indeed, this event has served as a well-established industry gathering for wastewater and waste management experts since 1999. More than 500 participants and 50 exhibitors discussed current challenges. Specifically, they focused on the new Sewage Sludge Ordinance and potential waste disposal bottlenecks. Furthermore, the experts evaluated concrete solutions for the required phosphorus recycling.
Live presentation of our thermal sewage sludge recovery concept
Carbotechnik also joined the event as an exhibitor. In addition, we presented a technical lecture to the professional audience. Our presentation focused on our advanced system for thermal sewage sludge recovery. This innovative system features our patented pulse burner. Contrary to many market concerns, we proved a key advantage: operators can run even smaller plants highly economically. This applies to plants starting at approximately 7,000 metric tons per year with 25% dry matter.
High-quality ash for the fertilizer market
We also highlighted a particular technological advantage. Provided that the sewage sludge meets heavy metal limits, the resulting ash fully complies with the strict German Fertilizer Ordinance (DüMV). Because of its high phosphorus solubility and perfect particle fineness, the ash offers great economic value. Consequently, it is ideally suited for direct marketing through fertilizer manufacturers.
Reliability through testing in our pilot plant
We want to provide maximum assurance for investors and operators. Therefore, we operate our own modern pilot plant. This facility handles approximately 8,000 metric tons per year with 25% dry matter. At this plant, we analyze your individual sewage sludge samples. Additionally, we conduct vital preliminary studies for your planned thermal recovery plants.
